Wuthering Heights (Mostly British Film Festival 2026) ~ 7:30 PM

The Mostly British Film Festival is thrilled to bring you the new Wuthering Heights before it enjoys general release. We will be the first to see this controversial, steamy version. Directed by Emerald Fennell, know this will be a bumpy ride. Remembering Promising Young Woman and Saltburn, expect provocative, shocking and unconventional heightened by the Yorkshire moors adding the moody, dark aesthetic for raging emotions. With Margot Robbie as Catherine and Jacob Elordi as Heathcliff, (Adolescence’s Owen Cooper plays Young Heathcliff) their romance is wild, crazed, a toxic Gothic psychological drama which may be disturbing to classic Bronte fans. Arguably film adaptations don’t claim historical accuracy or faithfulness to a literary work, but bring a director’s imagining to the source material. Fennell lets loose – see what you think, and ponder what Emily Bronte might make of it. Australia/US/UK 2926 (125 minutes)
